Iceland expedition, phase two

The second week of the expedition the group headed via Reykjavik, and the football final watched en masse, to the northwest of Iceland. The group headed out on a walk in the remote mountains of the West Fjords and then met Andy (Sea Kayak Cornwall) for a pre-trip brief and a paddle around the bay to allow Andy to set the course of the four-day trip ahead of them. The group then packed their kayaks and headed out to sea. Photos by Mark Davidson & Scott Duffield

Iceland expedition, phase one

Here's the first peek of the group's expedition in Iceland. Photos are by Mark Davidson, Ms MacNeill and Scott Duffield. The group did the famous Landmannalaugar trek in reverse with an extended first section. Each day they clumped two 'normal' days walking in to one, thus covering a six-day trek in half the time. They then moved on to more relaxing sightseeing for a couple of days.

P6 & 7 trip

With a terrible weather forecast for loch Lomond we headed to the Trossachs for our weekend away. The biggest change to this annual trip for P6 and P7 pupils was that pupils cooked their own evening meal on their own stove. According to them, this was a highlight of the experience.

Our woodland kitchen. Note the tooth cleaning taking place!
 Ready for breakfast.
 The breakfast bar.
Morning activities were for everyone: tube sliders and spectators alike. The water was VERY cold. Brave lot.

 Snoozy girls.
